The Role of the FX FB LED Uplight
With a profile similar to the NP models, the FB uplight is available in a black finish, allowing it to easily blend in with the environment during the night. ProAim features make it easy to adjust its angle to highlight the right surfaces or objects, and integration with the Luxor control system allows for color-changing and dimmable lighting. The use of lightweight aluminum material makes it easy to move and install, while the multi-layer anodization and powder coating protect it from corrosion and surface damage. Whether you need one fixture or a series of 10 to highlight a wall or gazebo, Lighting Warehouse makes it easy to upgrade your outdoor space with affordable, high-performance fixtures.
FAQs on the FX Luminaire FB Uplight
What’s the difference between phase and PWM dimming?
While both achieve a similar effect, the method of how the light is dimmed varies. Phase dimming requires trimming the AC current going to the driver. PWM is a modern version that uses signals to change the actual output. Those using the Luxor system will most likely use PWM to control dimming on the uplight.
Will aluminum corrode over time?
It will, but it won’t rust, which is more important in an outdoor lighting setting. Aluminum is also a lightweight material, which makes it easy to move the fixture around your space.
Should I go with a one- or three-LED fixture?
It depends on your intentions with the uplight. For details or accent lighting, a one-LED option should get the job done. However, if you want to shine a spotlight or showcase more details, you can upgrade to the three-LED variant.
How many FB uplights do I need?
Again, it depends on your vision for the fixtures. For wall washing, a few fixtures can do the trick, but if you just want to cast shadows or bring out details in your space, one or even two fixtures can work.
Is IP43 a water-resistant rating?
Yes, specifically, this rating protects against splashing water at an angle up to 60 degrees. This is especially useful in rain or snow. The fixture can also work in coastal areas, though we recommend an IP65 minimum to better protect against more powerful water jets.
