What’s the difference between the G9 and G4 bi-pin bulbs?

Side by side, the two bulbs look nearly identical, but it’s the pins that power the bulbs that separate the two models. True to its name, the G4 bi-pin bulb has two pins on the bottom separated by a mere 4 millimeters. The G9 has a slightly larger gap between its pins at 9 millimeters. The light output of a G4 bulb is also lower compared to a G9 bulb, which potentially limits its use in certain spaces.

Is it easy to install a G4 LED bulb?

With the right lighting tools, namely electrical gloves and a screwdriver, you should be able to install a G4 bi-pin bulb with ease. Before inserting the bulb into the socket, make sure that its pins are straight. Bending the pen before or after installation will damage the bulb and reduce its overall output.
