No New Trenching, No New System, No Heavy Expense
Expanding sprinkler zones or replacing damaged wire can be both costly and time consuming from system replacement and installation. Wirevirus dismisses the hassle of upending your landscape along the wire path by acting as a “wire doubler” that allows two valves to operate independently on one wire. To be clear, the extra-zone-one-wire concept isn’t revolutionary as golf courses have been using this method for years. Wirevirus, however, has adopted this large-scale concept and applied it right to your yard—dialed down price tag included.
How to Install Wirevirus in 4 Easy Steps
Step 1
Disconnect the working field wire from the old valve and connect it to the WireVirus’s GREEN wire then connect the RED wire to the old valve.
Step 2
Connect the BLUE wire to the new valve. Once the BLUE wire is attached, connect the COMMON wire (usually white) to the new valve.
Step 3
After disconnecting the old field wire from your controller, use a wire nut to connect the GREEN wire to the other piece of your WireVirus.
Step 4
Connect the RED wire from the old valve to terminal 1 (exiting zone) on your controller. Next, connect the BLUE wire to terminal 2 (new zone).
Wirevirus FAQs
How is Wirevirus different from similar products?
Wirevirus’s pocketsize design, affordable price tag, and easier setup distinguish it from comparable products. It also offers color coded zones and waterproof housing that give it the edge over competitors.
Is Wirevirus battery operated?
Nope! Wirevirus is completely wire dependent. When we say plug-and-play design, we mean plug-and-play design.
When would I use Wirevirus instead of similar product?
Compared to competitors, Wirevirus comes in handy when you want a budget-friendly solution for creating a new sprinkler zone or when a zone fails from damaged wire and you want to avoid digging.
What’s the difference between diode-based and terminal-based solutions for adding a sprinkler zone with one wire?
Diode-based solutions offer fully independent setup and control without digging new wires whereas terminal-based configurations generally require more complex switching.
